Tightening wheel nuts

  1. Snug every nut by hand first. With the wheel still lifted, thread each nut on evenly.
  2. Lower the car and torque in a star pattern. Use a torque wrench set to the value above, working across the wheel.
  3. Recheck after a short drive. Your manual may give a re-torque interval.

Impact guns can over-tighten nuts. Finish with a torque wrench.

Confirm with your own manual, dipstick or door-jamb label.
