Why the PDF page and the printed manual page differ
Every value on this site shows the owner’s manual page it comes from. You may notice two numbers: the printed page (the number at the bottom of the manual’s page) and the PDF page (where your PDF viewer says you are). They usually differ by a few pages, because the PDF counts the cover and front pages that have no printed number.
Examples
| Manual | Printed page | PDF page |
|---|---|---|
| 2017 Honda Civic Sedan, oil capacity (2.0 L) | 617 | 619 |
| 2022 Honda Civic Sedan, coolant (1.5 L) | 751 | 753 |
| 2021 Buick Envision, cooling system | 326 | 328 |
How we cite them
- When we know the printed page, the page label says “p. 617”. When we don’t, it says “PDF page 619”.
- The link to the manufacturer’s PDF opens at the PDF page, so you land on the right page whichever number is shown.
- The gap isn’t always constant through a manual, so we read each printed number off its page instead of assuming an offset.
